Greyzone.info is a cross-disciplinary study group of experts in conflict management and security. Previous related work has shown how, in the face of mounting grey zone (or hybrid warfare) aggression by autocracies, the security professionals cannot defend our democracies by themselves: a whole-of-society approach is now essential.
Mission
Greyzone.info works to improve organizations’ resilience against the increasing threats from hybrid warfare. We particularly aim to help organizations which lack the resources of national governments – including companies, local and regional governments, hospitals, universities, public utilities and many more.
Priorities
No matter how expert, a small working group must make choices as to its priorities if it is to achieve anything at all. It’s best to state those priorities up front: Ours are to
a) Use our cross-disciplinary expertise to address causes of both inertia and active blockages, within organizations that are typically slow to respond to the new threat landscape, and
b) Help develop tools and methods, for distribution to professionals of many kinds who are “close to the scene.” The object is to help them train and teach a broader range of people in turn, across a wide spectrum of organizations.
